Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of wooden wicks are used and are they eco friendly?
We use wooden wicks made out of 100% Natural wood from Sappy Fruit Trees sustainably sourced. They are eco friendly!
What is the best way to light my wooden wick?
When lighting a wooden wick candle, the best way to light it is to tilt the candle on an angle and light the edge of the wick - let the flame draw across the length of the wick.
Why won't my wooden wick stay lit?
Keep your wick trimmed to about 1/8" for the most optimal burn. Wooden wicks are like a combustion system where the heated wax sends fuel up the wick to keep it burning - it's the wax that keeps your candle burning, not the wick. If it's not trimmed short and clean, the wax can't make it to the flame. If your wooden wick won't stay lit for too long it’s probably because the wick is too long, or it needs to be trimmed clean of charred material.
If your candle won’t stay lit because it is “drowning” in a wax pool, try using a paper towel or napkin to soak up some of the excess wax.
How do I ensure optimal burning for my wooden wick candle?
Keep your wicks trimmed to about 1/8" and make sure the wick is cleaned from any white char or debris before the next burn.
When do I trim my wick?
Make sure your candle has cooled prior to trimming its wick.
It make take several tries to get your wick to light - this is completely normal! The heat from the flame needs to get enough wax through the wick before it really starts burning nicely.
